05.09.08 Hari Raya events!
Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir Batin to all. Let us forget the bitter past and look forward to blissful future.I absolutely love Hari Raya. To me, Hari Raya promises good old family-get-together times, every single year without fail. Few months back I thought I was going to celebrate this year's raya with one less person in the family when my family had to face a harsh reality that my grandma had suffered from stroke. I was very wrong. My grandma is still here with us and I couldn't be more thankful to Him. On the eve of raya, my house seems to be the busiest. Gosh, yet another spring cleaning! This time round lots of changing here and there, change the table runners, carpet and the list goes on. I didn't manage to contact my friends and seek forgiveness from them because i was extremely busy, by the time i sleep, it was 4 am the day itself. In the day we did a little family tradition, anyam ketupat ! We really can't ce;ebrate Hari Raya without ketupat you know! And I insist it shall remain a family tradition till somehow down the family line people forget how ketupat looks like.Woke up at 6 to solat Subuh and watch my grandma cook Lodeh, afterwhich i start ironing my clothes while watching Solat Sunat Hari Raya on tv. Its really something when I hear the takbir filled my house. Unimaginably soothing.Guests (my cousins) start arriving around 11am, so mum and myself gets pretty busy afterwhich. Soon after, my family went to my paternal grandma's crib for the second-half of the celebration. Finally, after uber long, I get to see those kids and folks from kampung, I really do miss them! We didn't get to go around much because apparently, some of my younger cousins have PSLE and others are going through exams. Major Bummer! Its Raya people! Come on!So the consecutive days, we went to our close relative houses. And yes,how can I forget this, by 2nd day of raya i was down with diarrhea..not good! Woke up at 3 am to move my bowel and had more trips to toilet afterwards. -.-"I have many2 pics to share but i think I'll wait till my mum upload it at our family's multiply site and provide u guys with the hyperlink!Save me tons of work and time..till another time,toodles!
